Check below what you must do to prepare your device and the basic requirements to have your phone confirmed in the WhatsApp Business API.
Requirements to create a WhatsApp for companies
When creating an account, you can register just one number, from a line registered in your name. The number can be mobile or landline. Furthermore, the number must be able to receive calls or text messages, as confirmation occurs in one of these ways.
Check out other basic requirements that you should pay attention to:
- Disable any apps or settings that disable phone calls;
- You must be connected to the network, WiFi or data. If you are roaming or have a weak signal, confirmation may fail;
- If you want to confirm a landline, choose the “Call me” option to receive your code.
How to confirm a WhatsApp Business number
Access WhatsApp Business (Android | iOS) and follow the steps below.Open the app and tap “Agree and Continue”;Check if the country code is correct, in this case it is +55 for Brazil;Enter your phone number and proceed;If it is a cell phone, the code will be sent by SMS, if not, tap “Call me”;Wait for the call and enter the code in the app to confirm the number.

Can I use landline extensions on WhatsApp Business?
As a security measure, in the business version of WhatsApp it is impossible to use extensions. Choose a landline number other than the type to confirm your business account number to keep your customers informed about products and services, etc.
What to do if you don't receive the six-digit SMS code
Receiving the code is a quick process, if it is via SMS it is entered automatically, but if for some reason you did not receive it, follow the options below to reverse the situation and take some precautions.
- Do not guess the code as this may prevent confirmation for a period of time;
- Wait for the process to finish, if you don't receive it by then and request a new code to be sent.
- Be aware that each time you request a new code, the time to repeat the action increases;
- If you do not receive it, tap the “Call me” option; when you answer, a recording will repeatedly inform you of the code to be entered;
- Fees may be charged to receive the code, varying between operators.
Problems solution
If you are still having problems, check that the number was entered correctly. If not, tap “Wrong number?”, enter it again and tap “Next”. Often, the error can be a misplaced number, something very simple.

However, if the number is correct and you still don't receive the code, try turning off your cell phone, waiting 30 seconds and then turning it back on to try to confirm the code again. Also, you can resolve the issue by uninstalling the app and downloading it again.
